Pizza lovers will certainly enjoy browsing through this book, even if not all of the recipes appeal to their tastebuds. But with such a varied selection of pizza recipes, there is definitely something for everyone. Choices range from classics to highly unique pizzas, such as breakfast pizza.

My only criticism would be that, since the recipes were chosen by an American poll, that calling this book a collection of the world's best pizzas is slightly inaccurate. Nevertheless, this book is well worth its price and should offer something delicious to everyone in the world.

I've tried many of these recipes on my non-vegetarian friends and families. I got raves on all of them. Tami makes cooking fun and her recipes are easy and delicious.

If you've never made your own seitan before and were afraid to try, try Tami's Savory Seitan (pg 5). It is really quite simple and yeilds great results. You will be ruined for life as you will never be able to go back to store bought again.

I just made the Chase the Chill Chili the other day. This is one fantastic chili. You will have a tough time picking a favorite recipe, but I highly recommend trying a few of mine: The Asian Style Salad bowl (pg. 92) is my all time favorite salad. The flavors jump out of the bowl. It is truly special. The dressing on the Bistro Chopped Salad (pg. 87) is my honey's go to red dressing now (and he is very particular about them). The San Fran Seitan Wrap (pg 107) may take a little time to put together, but it is off the hook! I've served the Seitan and Herb Dumplings - a vegan take on Chicken and Dumplings - several times to my meat eating crowd and they love it. The Pesto Lasagne with Slow Roasted Tomatoes (pg 155) ZOMG the tomatoes alone are addicting.

I could go on and on, but I think you should get your hands on a copy to experience this fantastic collection of recipes. I am a cookbook addict and have many on my bookshelf. This is one of my favorites and won't be gathering any dust.


Essential reading for foodies - E. Slater - USA
I purchased American Vegan Kitchen after seeing lots of buzz about it on a vegan foodie forum. In the week or so that I've had it, I've made a few of the recipes and everything has been outstanding! You want a vegan cheesesteak that everyone (meat eaters included) will love? It's here, along with a killer beer battered onion ring recipe. Craving donuts? Check out the "Darngood Donut Bites!" My family also tried the spaghetti pie, and all of us could not stop eating it (including my 2 and 4 year olds.)
The book has a nice mix of really decadent comfort food recipes as well as many lighter selections, i.e. soups, salads, etc., and some really interesting additions like "Deli Rubenettes," baked jalapeno poppers with lime cream and "quickels" (quick pickles.) There is also a basics section that has lots of good information on essential ingredients and cooking tips.
Without a doubt, American Vegan Kitchen is a great addition for both new and experienced vegan cooks, as well as for those who are interested in experimenting with vegan cooking. Highly recommended!

The last couple of years have seen a plethora of new vegan cookbooks - many of them quite good. Tami Noyes' book is among the excellent few that stand above the rest. Being familiar with her blog for some years, I knew her book would be noteworthy, but she has truly excelled. We have made a number of recipes, and fed them to family and friends to great praise. The No-Tuna Melt Panini, Incrediburger, and Sloppy Joe are going into permanent rotation in our house. This is fantastic, flavorful comfort food which will appeal to a broad audience, vegan or not. Bravo!

I first purchased this book in its first, self published edition and was blown away. I was already eating 'zone' (i.e. proportions of 40-30-30 of Carbs, Protein and Fat calories) and a big fan, but it was such a hassle figuring out what to eat at restaurants, especially fast food. Because of work, I often had to resort to this option, so Tracy's book was a welcome resource, and I have used it often over the years, especially recently.

At first glance, it may appear that meals are way too small to be satisfying (for an average woman, a meal of 350 calories, for example, which may be Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich with no mayo and only the bottom half of the bun), but that is the magic of the zone- by eating enough fat and protein with your carbs, your body is triggered to feel full and happy on an appropriate amount of food. For me, just going to Wendy's feels like a treat, and if I can have a frostee with my meal (one of the other meal options), I don't feel deprived. Incorporating the meals in this book with other 'zone' eating is helping me lose weight and not feel hungry.

Not long ago I watched a show that surprised me by pointing out that the newest trends in cuisine are eclectic and international - French cuisine is out and Latin American and Asian are in, bland foods are even further out than before and spicy is the order of the day. Well, this book really represents this new reality. It contains many recipes with varied origins and influences, all of which are very tasty.

I found the recipes to be easy to follow, and had no problem with the ingredients. The recipes cover a wide range of meats, and have a nicely varied style and flavor. This is a very good barbeque book from a barbeque master (I do love his show!).

I've owned this for a few years, my grill-meister neighbor now owns it and my grill- sophomore brother will get one for Christmas this year. How good is this book? I tried out the coffee rub recipe on a friend who liked it so much I gave him a canning jar full- he thanked me with a big bag of fresh moose meat...which eventually found it's way to the grill with more favorites from this book.

My mother found this Bonnie's BBQ sauce a few years ago while on a road trip. Since then, we have bought about 30 jars of this fantastic BBQ sauce. We ran out early this year and my husband had to use a grocery store brand on his steak this week. Horrors! (Well, that was actually me. He wouldn't eat much of his steak without his Bonnie's BBQ sauce and most of it went to the dog.) I'm ordering six more jars!
